Verify your coverageThe District Recovery Community was instrumental in helping me achieve long term sobriety and ultimately saving my life. The groups are held with incredible facilitators and are very enlightening on the underlying issues of addiction/alcoholism and mental health. The houses that you stay in are stellar and located in safe communities. The best part about this treatment center is the sense community you'll find when you arrive. The wide variety of activities held on weekly basis helped show me that fun can be had in sobriety. If you are anyone you love is struggling right now and you are considering a treatment program to send them to I highly recommend you reach out to the team here. It could be the decision that saves you or a loved ones life.
I’m back home already, they day I got to the Domos house (Friday) I ran 1/2 mile on the treadmill, then Saturday I ran a mile so I knew I was ready to go. It was great there, I wish I could have spent more time there, everyone was so accommodating and it really felt like they had their heart and soul into helping everyone there. I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you. I forgot what it was like to have a clear head, my focus has returned, laser sharp, so much that it brought tears to my eyes today as I started working on some projects I had set aside for too long. If anyone is having any doubts about the effectiveness of this treatment I am here to tell you, it works and there is nothing to fear, you will be treated with kindness and dignity and you will get your spark back.
Came into treatment and did not really want to be here. The staff really helped me realize how much I needed to change. Having staff who went through it helped me out and they were always down to talk with me. I ended up staying the whole time and they set me up for a chill IOP after. Overall it was a bad ass program full of people who care.
Substance abuse is quite prevalent in California, as over 156,000 people were admitted to treatment in 2011 alone, although many, many more chose not to get help.
The Pros and Cons of Holistic and Traditional Rehab ServicesAlthough rehab services may differ in many ways, their ultimate goal remains the same. Treating a substance abuse issue is often difficult, and it can be even more so if the program is not a good fit. Holistic programs welcome anyone willing to approach rehab with an open mind and the desire to enhance their spirit on the way to wellness.
There are similarities between holistic treatment and traditional treatment, of course. In both services, physical treatment comes through detox, and mental health treatment is administered through therapy. The execution is what truly differs. Detox in holistic rehab services is usually natural, utilizing a variety of alternative therapies, whereas traditional services use both conventional and modern medicine.
