Drug & Alcohol Rehab Covered by Baylor Scott & White Health Insurance

There are a variety of rehab programs covered by Baylor Scott & White Health insurance. Your healthcare provider or treatment team will work with you to determine what level of care makes the most sense for your needs. Levels of drug and alcohol treatment that may be covered by your Baylor Scott & White Health insurance include:

• Medical detox: This process helps manage withdrawal symptoms as comfortably and safely as possible. You may receive medications (as needed), monitoring, and support on an inpatient or outpatient basis. This can be an important step in preparing you for an ongoing treatment program at an inpatient or outpatient rehab.³
• Inpatient addiction treatment: You’ll live at the treatment facility and have access to around-the-clock care to help you focus on recovery with a combination of behavioral therapies, counseling, medication, and support groups. These programs can be a good fit if you have limited family support or a more severe SUD.³
• Outpatient addiction treatment programs: These programs range greatly in duration and setting. With outpatient care, you attend treatment on a set schedule but live at home.³
• Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) for drug and alcohol addiction: This type of outpatient program offers a higher level of support than standard outpatient programs. Typically, an IOP requires between 9 and 20 hours of treatment each week and runs from 2 months to 1 year.³
• Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) for addiction: This type of outpatient program requires daily treatment attendance. Most PHPs run 4–8 hours each day over at least 3 weeks.³
• Aftercare: Also known as continuing care, this is a form of treatment designed to support your recovery after completing a formal program. Your aftercare plan may include a combination of counseling, 12-step participation, or residing in a sober living home.⁴
