The whole staff was great. I commend them for what they do and all their hard work. Everyone made me feel very comfortable. I had great room mates. The clients were very welcoming. If I needed anything I got it. We love the housekeepers, especially Isabel. If I could sender money I would! I had two buddies when I first got here, between them I felt very welcome. Participation in group was good. I tried to gather as much information and tools as I could so I can use them when I go home. This really brought me down to earth with literature and books I could read. I got with my case manager to help me get my out patient classes together and therapy for when I go home. Overall everything is nice, lifting weights, walking. Food was good. I ate 3 meals a day and I wasn't eating that when I got here so it motivated me to eat more which Im thankful for. I would read books a lot to clear my mind. I did my best to stay focused and take care of myself so I can take care of everything else when I go home. River Oaks has really showed me the way. Everybody here is in the same boat trying to get better. The guy that runs the place Jeff was a really nice guy, he would always talk to me in the hallways and say "hey my man" It made me feel comfortable. I stayed busy here with classes and it really helped.
The alumni coordinator Angel completely changed my whole outlook on sobriety, when he speaks in meetings it's so uplifting, so POWERFUL, and I'm so greatful for getting the opportunity to meet him. This place literally saved me!❤️
This company hires techs without the appropriate credentials to deal with this population. Additionally, clients are treated like numbers rather than people at times (from the insurance side of things - some clients are promised they will stay longer then abruptly kicked out when their insurance runs out, for example). Therapists there are the only glue holding it together. They are wonderful and truly invested in their clients and the nutritionist is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile for eating disorder clients.
