Banyan is a great place to get sober and learn how to stay sober. The staff on site and at residential are very caring and honestly want to see you succeed in your recovery. I would recommend this treatment facility to both friends and family in need of help.
The counseling and staff were very good. Overall a great facility.
I attended all my groups while I was here. I came to treatment after having 5 years clean and sober and I'm so glad that I did. The admissions process was so fast I spoke with a woman over the phone who connected with Dr. Rahman who assessed me over the phone and I was on a plane the next morning which was amazing because my disease was out to get. Everyone remembers your name here which lets you know you matter, that's really a gift. I attended the sponsor event and there were so many great speakers. I attended the AA meetings and was able to build my network. I like Cami, Jennifer, and Trina, and Amy because their groups were great and they have knowledge of the 12 step program. If I had questions they always made time for me. I loved Ray, I felt like I knew him my whole life, like we could sit in my living room and talk which really helped to comfortable opening up. TA's Cecil, Tanya, and Angie in the kitchen made it a great experience. And Dr. Fahs is the bomb!!! When I came in my blood pressure was so high, he went above and beyond to adjust my meds and check in on me. If he hadn't seen me for the day he would make sure to see how I was doing. The only thing I was not happy with was my case manger Rick, I wish would have been better communication. I met so many beautiful people here. The AA and NA meetings were very helpful. River Oaks taught me that I have a voice an that no is a complete sentence. That I don't need on the stress of the world on my shoulders. It helped me work on my communication and that when I'm struggling, I need to reach out for help. The community here was so strong, when I first got here I didn't want to stay, but my room mate helped convince me to stay and talked me off the ledge and really supported me.
