Sierra Tucson

I went there for severe depression and suicidal behavior. I was able to also work on my eating disorder and sexual trauma. Left with many coping skills and on less or no medication at the time when I had come in on several medications. I also left with abetted sense of myself, coping skills and a stronger support network. My roommate who was there for alcohol addiction has been sober ever since and we are the best of friends to this day. They provide a family week during the 30 day treatment, and though it was very difficult emotionally, my parents and I have a stronger relationship because of it. We were able to learn so much and grow from it. Anytime someone I know is struggling with anything from addiction, eating disorders, to mood disorders, I always tell them about Sierra Tucson and how amazing it was for my now best friend and I. Though I still struggle with depression and ED I am much more equipped to cope with life because of what I learned/experienced at Sierra Tucson. If I could afford it I would spend one month a year there just to keep everything in check. :-)

Fountain Hills Recovery

Fountain Hills is like no other program I have been to. My therapist was amazing and really made me engage in my own recovery. Even when I was difficult, the staff treated me with compassion. Thank you! Strengths: Therapists are amazing, staff is fantastic, really help with mental health issues, beautiful facility. Weakness: Wish there was a chef.

The Meadows

I went to the Meadows in 1977 and it saved my life. At the time to save costs it offered non of the amenities it offers now but was strongly influenced by the 12 steps of AA. You were required to complete the first three steps which are the most difficult and stressed the importance of meetings individual and group counseling . and we had no free time to swim , horseback ride but we learned all about the disease of addiction. Most loving and professional group of people I had ever met. All were in recovery and had Masters in Addiction Counseling. One of the things I was impressed with the most was that there was no repeaters as the thinking was that it made recovery.more difficult. Hard to make money on that model. Almost 40 years later the promises are alive for me and my Meadows alumni husband. Thank My Higher power as I do not understand it for this place and all the people I met there it works if you work it is the truth

Finding Goodyear Treatment Centers When the city of Goodyear, Arizona conducted a survey to discover how happy their residents were, almost 90 percent of those who responded said they are more than satisfied with their lives. That's an impressive number for a city with a population of just over 65,000 people. No city is perfect, and that applies to Goodyear as well. The state of Arizona as a whole had a teenage marijuana use rate that was even higher than the national average in 2008.

Information released by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for 2010 confirms that marijuana addiction treatment numbers for all ages are also high at over 5,000 admissions.

Arizona Drug Treatment Numbers

SAMHSA has a great deal of information on addiction treatment admissions for the state of Arizona. Some notable numbers are:

  • There were 28,789 total admissions in 2010.
  • Alcohol addiction made up 21.5 percent of these admissions.
  • About 29.1 percent of heroin admissions were for patients 21 to 25 years old.
  • Approximately 93 percent of those admitted for amphetamine abuse treatment were white.
  • Admissions for smoked cocaine dependencies were the most evenly distributed between genders.
What Needs to Be Addressed Before Going to Rehab?

The work begins before you even get to rehab. Not only do you have a great deal of outside tasks to accomplish; you have to prepare yourself for great changes in your life as well. If you're participating in an outpatient treatment program, you don't have to worry about being absent from daily activities. Instead, much of your preparation for treatment is mental. You'll need to prepare to detox from the substance in question, and be willing to open up in therapy. Other treatment options may require more extensive financial and personal arrangements, but the mental preparation is the same.
