Verify your coverageBesides being far away, which I guess its good to be away from trouble it was a positive experience. The place is old, but I was not there for a vacation. I learned a lot about myself and how to cope. I am newly sober it is going to be a struggle but I am a new person now.
I went to Serenity a few months ago. And I am so grateful for the experience I had there. I really feel like a made a good choice with Serenity. It was the first place I'd been to, that treated me like a person, without judgement and without making me feel like a criminal. I was able to see a therapist a few times a week, and we also had several group sessions that I enjoyed, and were mostly beneficial for my recovery. I learned a lot about myself and finally developed some structure and routine in my life. I learned so much about relations and all the experience and knowledge I earned at Serenity, are so useful in building a sober life for myself. There was always plenty to do and I just loved my stay there overall. I particularly enjoyed the different activities that they offered, all the outings that we had. It was super to go out and have some fun even though that we are in a rehab. I made so many new friends, I am happy that the destiny got me to meet them. Thanks you for all the people who helped me through this time. I would definitely recommend Serenity to anyone who is struggling.
One of my best friends of many years went to A Forever Recovery. He is one of my closest friends and is like a brother to me. It became apparent to me a little less than a year ago that he was suffering with an addiction to Oxycontin, a substance abuse habit that I had been suspicious that he had but never had been able to confirm until he flat out admitted it to me. I had seen other friends fall prey to addiction over the years, so I knew what I was seeing, but I couldn’t get him to admit it to me. He finally came to his parents and me and admitted that he had a problem, and we immediately worked quickly to find him a rehab center to go to. We acted fast, because we didn\'t know how long he’d be in the frame of mind where he was willing to get help and do something about his addiction habit. He had been so hidden and reticent in recent past that we were afraid he’d jump back into that stage soon enough. Shortly after beginning our search, we happened across A Forever Recovery. This center really jumped off the page at us. His parents, my friend, and I were all quite impressed with the literature we read about the center, and shortly afterwards we went in for a tour. I was quite impressed with the facility itself, the staff members there, and their rehabilitation program. A Forever Recovery offers a very malleable yet structured program. I knew at once that this would be effective for my friend because, while I knew he needed a program that could be structured around his needs and wants and what he basically as an individual needed to address to beat addiction, I also knew that he needed structure and a reliable schedule to really beat the habit once and for all and for good. Once my best friend was in A Forever Recovery and attending the program, I knew we’d made the right choice. I was a little nervous at first saying goodbye to him on his first day but the staff comforted his parents and me and we felt so comfortable with their calming presence that our concerns were soon assuaged. Ever since that first day my greatest and closest friend has done nothing but improve. He improved while he was in the center, and he’s been improving every day since he graduated. All of the great and lovable characteristics that he has have been enhanced and all the bad ones that came with the addiction are now gone. I finally have my best friend back, and I have A Forever Recovery to thank for that! -Jason
