I was there in 2024. The facility was not the cleanest, and it could certainly use some upgrades on the structure itself. The windows were extreme drafty and cold. They need to not push AA so hard. People have different beliefs.

I exited March 2023; It is now Oct. 2025. My experience, despite claims, was not personalized. I was made to conform to religious practices that were trauma-response inducing. They really push AA to the exclusion of other treatment possibilities.

Don’t waste your time, money or hope. They push meds on EVERYONE, offer no real recovery plan, & don’t prepare you for life sober. It’s all sedation, bandaid & $$$$$$. Their “holistic” approach is a joke—they want you to fail, return & repeat.

Effective treatment of a person’s mind, body, and spirit is greatly aided by the sense of belongingness/connectedness. And those feelings are fed by every person at there, including the patients. This is not something you can manufacture or market. This is simply something you feel when you treatment at here.

The food at Brighton is so much better than it used to be. They have a Chef in the kitchen and homemade soups everyday. The staff is excellent and make you feel welcome and like my needs mattered to them. I loved the art and music therapy as well as the yoga! I would recommend Brighton to anyone as a great place to start the recovery journey.
