To whom it may concern, SJRP changed my life with the infinite amount of love and patience they offered to me. The variety of food and activities made me excited for each day that came along. Activities included the gym, equine therapy, horse back riding, NIT/VAT therapy ( which is amazing!!!), painting and reading, meditation, group and one on one therapy sessions. Extra activities include park excursions, kayaking, visiting springs, and the beach. All the staff ranging from the Director of Operations down to the Custodians are there to provide tender loving care for the betterment of each client. I speak from personal experience and this is why I am so grateful for the opportunity to attend Saint Johns Recovery Place.
It has been almost a year since I left Beachway. I had a couple of tough months recently but am out of that and feeling the gratitude again. I just finished my steps and am thinking about trying to work in the field. Beachway, specifically the staff, my therapist, saved my life. I had been to treatment before and it didn\'t work. Or I didn\'t work it. Either way. I relapsed every time. My family had a lot to do with it. They were on the verge of not talking to me. I went initially because I wanted to avoid that, but also cause I wanted to get sober, but I just didn\'t want to have to put in the work. It was tough at first, but I was taken to some good meetings and met my sponsor. Then my therapist got to me. She was tough and it pissed me off, but she cared about me and wasn\'t going to let me slide. It\'s crazy. I didn\'t think I would be sober today and certainly not leaving a review for a rehab haha. I don\'t know. Im just feeling a lot of gratitude and wanted to share.
I have been having a really great time starting my recovery. This is my first time really seeking treatment for my addiction and I am glad I am. I am also glad that I had the help of my mom to push me. I may not have realized it at the time but I could’ve died many times before. When you’re an addict you don’t think about stuff like that or how it can affect your family. It was scary at first but everybody here is making it really easy and loving. From start to finish the therapist teachers other staff everyone including staff in cafeteria and transportation. They put so much effort into your well-being and that is amazing. I am loving it!
