At Advantage Mental Health, individuals struggling with addiction are provided with a medically-supervised outpatient treatment program that allows patients to participate in work, school, and family events while receiving care. Advantage Mental Health's medically assisted detoxification is offered on an outpatient basis, providing patients with education and substance abuse counseling while simultaneously prescribing FDA-approved medications such as buprenorphine (also known as Suboxone®) to minimize opioid withdrawal symptoms. Through this combination of evidence-based medical treatment, counseling, and patient education, Advantage Mental Health provides a flexible environment that allows for a sustainable recovery from addiction.

  • Outpatient Alcohol Detox

    At Advantage Mental Health, we offer outpatient medically assisted detoxification treatment, a technique which uses medications to counteract and manage the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.
  • FDA-approved medications

    We use FDA-approved medications such as buprenorphine (also known as Suboxone®) to minimize opioid withdrawal symptoms and suppress cravings so a person can stop taking the opioid medication to which he or she is addicted.

Meet the Staff

  • Dr. William Hervey
    Dr. William HerveyChief Medical Officer, Board Cerified
    Dr. Hervey, Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Hervey is a graduate of Loyola University (New Orleans), Georgetown University (MBA) and the University of South Florida (MD). He is board-certified in general psychiatry and served as Chief Resident Physician. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has a waiver from the Drug Enforcement Administration to prescribe buprenorphine as a treatment for opioid addiction.

    Lisa-Ramos-ArchboldPsychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, Board Certified
    Ms. Ramos-Archbold is a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She has been a psychiatric nurse practitioner for five years and has also served on the faculty of the College of Nursing at St. Petersburg College where she was the lead instructor for Pharmacology for Nursing and Psychosocial Nursing.
