About Beachway Therapy Center

Beachway Therapy Center, as a dual diagnosis facility, believes that in order to treat addiction successfully each person must address their own deeper emotional issues. By providing a comfortable and serene space our highly trained therapists and medical staff are fully equipped to design a treatment plan based on each client’s individual needs. We believe in meeting the addict where they are, recognizing their unique circumstances and providing the support and therapy necessary to lay the groundwork for a lasting, sustainable recovery. Each client, upon arrival, will be assigned a primary therapist who will work carefully to customize a treatment plan that will serve as the foundation of their recovery. Through counseling, group therapy, and individual therapy sessions, each client will learn the basic tools to regain control of their lives. We treat each and every client with respect and compassion so that they can learn to heal and grow.

Learn More About Beachway Therapy Center

Areas of Specialization
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
  • Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
  • EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced.
  • Medical Detoxification
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
  • DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a therapy designed to help people suffering from mood disorders as well as those who need to change patterns of behavior that are not helpful, such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse.

I had a great time at Beachway. I found the therapists quite helpful, the facilities very comfortable, and the price turned out to be alright. I'd have no problems recommending this place to people dealing with depression or anxiety.
