The place is nice, the staff are nice too. I had an over all very good experience with afr. I went there for drug addiction, and I did the program, mainly 12 steps, but there is some other choices too. The counselors were very nice, they were really helping me with my issues, and I am glad I decided to go to rehab, because I just could not keep going how I was going. Now after 5 weeks that I am back i feel stable and I don't feel like I need any drugs ever again. I know you can relapse, but I think I am nit going to, the program was very effective. I recommend a forever recovery to those who are serious about getting clean.
Evey day at the D-House was the best day ever. Loving staff that truly care about you and the food is simply the very best. Very nice rooms with plenty of storage with comfy beds. Movie nights, volleyball, outside fire pit, ping pong, corn hole, horse shoes, gardening, they even took us bowling. Excellent groups to open up. Very safe place to get the best help. For me its a magic house. Forever changed my life.
I was here for 21 days. Prepare to have up to 5 days detox and then 14 days treatment, you can request extensions with your counselor. This place has pretty much everything I needed. The food is good and plentiful, you go to meditation, therapy, lectures and meetings. You are only going to get out of it what you put into it. Many people leave early (against treatment advice--ATA) because they didn't want to put in the work it takes to gain perspective on your life and addiction--the work it takes to change your thinking. Ladies and men are not mingled here except at a few meetings and for a few activities. You will have to write about your life in perspective papers and exercises. It takes up your time and really gets you thinking about your lifestyle etc. There are washers and dryers. You are allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks. just no caffeine or chocolate. Hard candy, soda, frozen meals, prepackaged foods are allowed. Medication line is kind of a drag. You have to be ready to put forth time and effort to help yourself. Gook Luck
