Recovery Centers of America at Westminster
The staff was very patient and tolerant. They did everything in their power to get me to stay during my bi-polar episodes, while i was starting my new medication. The staff is very understanding of each individuals medical needs. The best part of RCA is the vast majority of the staff are also recovering addicts so they understand very well the troubles we encounter while becoming sober. We were well fed and the and well monitored by the staff so they could address changes in our behavior almost immediately. Staff the is very experienced in addiction and recovery as well as the medical staff. A comfortable living enviroment. Excelent food. Great activities for coping with addiction. And a very social environment that forces you to be engaged with a large group of people. A few more phones wouldnt hurt. Some people would use the phones without permission and you wouldnt be able to get your daily phone call. Also some of the patients who are court ordered to be in the facility have a toxic/negative attitude and try to ruin recovery for people who truly want to be there.

I've never had the opportunity to grow as much as I did at RC. The greatest part is that I've been offered this by staff I looked up to, could relate to, and admired. The staff engaged me right away, nurtured my strengths and encouraged me to identify and battle my weakness'. Most of these weakness' were directly and indirectly responsible for my addiction. From the bottom of my once dark cold heart, which you filled with caution and irrefutable love, I thank the people there for fixing me. To the staff: You were my spiritual guide, I feel I owe you so much for being so kind, welcoming, and engaging. You were my savior in tough times, encouraged me to grow, and have been my light in the darkest corners of my addiction, and carried me when I was too scared to move. You're the best. A guy I can look up to and have some laughs with. Thanks for the simple sayings. I needed those. Thanks for the dedication you've brought me further than any in the past. I owe my life to these people and I only wish everyone could have the opportunity to beat their addiction like I did here. I wish everyone could come here to find their own freedom

The nursing, doctors, and clinical staff are wonderful caring people who are in their jobs for the correct reasons, to help people that are hurting. The administration is horrible. Their goal is to milk the insurance company for every dollar possible. They were absolutely dishonest with me about the length of my time in DETOX, promising from the inpatient screening, through admission a time-line that was never a reality. I was told 3 to 4 days max DETOX for alcohol abuse, then to be moved on to the residential side for inpatient care. They realized that my insurance company was willing to pay for a much longer stay in DETOX, in turn the LIED to me at every turn in an effort to keep me in DETOX as long as possible. They called my wife, misinformed her, and manipulated both of us. Again, all in an effort to get the maximum dollars from my insurance provider. The nursing staff and doctor all agreed I was over the DT\'s after 36 hours, yet they would not allow me to go the residential treatment side as my insurance company was willing to pay for DETOX for 8 days. I left after 7 days to go to another program as I was so upset at their TOTAL DISHONESTY with me. I was most upset at how they manipulated my wife, and her emotions, using her as a cudgel to try and keep me in a DETOX setting that was no longer appropriate. All in all my experience was positive with their clinical staff, nursing, and doctors. The facility is well kept, and their programs are well run. BE AWARE that they will be dishonest with you to get you into the facility, then will manipulate your family in order to max out the dollars they can get from the insurance company. I can not thank the staff enough for their care, concern, and help.
