Verify your coverageThe program at Great Lakes Rehabilitation is great. The staff are amazing people who will do everything in their power to help you get and stay sober. The place is amazing. The staff there are extremely helpful and always willing to go out of their way to make things easier for the clients. There's always something to do and the staff work to make sure that the free-time the clients have are spent doing something fun. It's a program that takes as soon as you need it to and they never try to hurry you along on your program. You do the work you need to, in the time you need and things are much better because of it. They staff they have there are very dedicated. They could use some more though.
Multiple counselors to fit any disability and issue. Very quick getting patients with a therapist both at the hospital and at discharge. Fantastic doctor. Clean facility. Never felt uncomfortable speaking freely about what I was going through
Smart recovery was offered here and I was so incredibly happy about that. For anyone who does not know what smart recovery is it uses researched based methods to assist with addictive behaviors. it is more if a self-knowledge and self-empowerment type of course and I highly recommend that you give it a try if you are able. By being an active drug and alcohol user I lacked a great deal of motivation and it was nearly impossible for me to want to care about doing anything. This helped me to cope with my urges of using and feeling the need to use like clock work and By managing my thoughts and feelings I was able to drastically control my dangerous and daring behaviors and learn how to lived a well balanced life. You see when you really try to overcome something and you know that there is more that you could be doing with your life you tend to see great things that can be in store for you. It was hard and trying at times and I felt like giving up sometimes because I did not think I had it in me, but I kept on pushing through it and I am so proud that I am able to stand here today knowing that because of my accomplishments and hard work and determination I was able to start a whole knew fulfilling life.
