Basically, they use an older fashioned "step" program for alcohol abuse. My brother had tried several other programs that had little to no effect, but has been sober 4 years now.
As a former client here I can honestly say that this place saved my life. The treatment team was amazing and they incorporate all aspects of living a healthy life. Including regular massages, daily yoga and trips to the gym. The owner is incredible and really cares about helping people. It's a very high end facility with no more than 6 patients at a time to ensure each client gets individualized care. I would highly recommend this facility- if you are looking to get sober, this is THE place!!
Staff was awesome. Food and entertainment were weak. Helped me overcome my addiction to alcohol...changed my life.

Though one of the original medical marijuana dispensaries in Berkeley closed its doors in 2012, there are still a number of storefronts that sell THC-laden baked goods and marijuana of all types. The problem is that many families are concerned that the medical marijuana purveyors make it easier for marijuana to be sold on the black market, which in turn increases rates of marijuana abuse and addiction - and the need for drug addiction treatment in Berkeley.
The same issue exists with prescription drugs and alcohol. Both are addictive yet both are still easily accessible to anyone who wants them. Add to the list the synthetic drugs that are available online and in head shops plus the drugs that are made in people's homes (e.g., crystal meth), and it's almost hard to believe that there isn't a larger problem with drug abuse in California and across the country.Comparing Rehab Facilities in Berkeley
Since we can't eradicate drugs from the planet, the best thing we can do is to keep our eyes open and be objective when it comes to the drug use and abuse patterns of those we love - and ourselves.
