I enjoy working here at sanctuary. It is such a great environment and team based effort in getting people into treatment and saving a life!! I wouldnt want to work anywhere else. Our Clinical Approach Impact is committed to compassionate and common sense treatment for all who seek help. We offer both residential and outpatient programs for adult men and women. Our admissions department screens and assesses each individual in order to determine the appropriate level of care based on a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) diagnosis as determined by the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) assessment tool. Individualized treatment planning and other services are then established through collaboration between counselor and client utilizing the Addiction Severity Index (ASI), evidence based assessment tool. Our professional and certified staff provides an array of specialized counseling and therapies that address fundamental barriers to a lifetime of recovery. Threaded throughout treatment is the time honored and effective 12 Step philosophy and its principles that emphasize: responsibility, accountability and integrity.
Our 21-year-old daughter has been in treatment at the Safe Harbor House for Women residential program since March 2016. She first entered the Knox Program, for young women ages 18-24. This program provided her with a multi-faceted and intensive therapeutic millieu which addressed the particular challenges facing young women struggling with the disease of addiction. Our daughter immediately felt comfortable in this warm environment where she felt understood and cared for by the well-trained and nurturing staff. Many of the staff are alumni of Safe Harbor and have returned to be of service to other women struggling with these issues. I believe this speaks volumes about the quality of care and the long-term health and recovery for those who have entered the Safe Harbor program. Through this difficult process of treatment and recovery, Safe Harbor is helping our daughter re-discover her core, so she can begin to love and value herself again, and re-gain the self-confidence she had lost along the way. Not only did Safe Harbor establish a structured daily program, provide a case manager, individual therpeutic intervention, group counseling, 12-step program, spiritual guidance and psychiatric consultation for our daughter, Safe Harbor also helped our family to better understand this family disease, through parent workshops and weekly contact with her case manager. Our daughter has now transitioned to the Connections program at Safe Harbor, which affords her greater independence and responsibilities, although still retaining the benefits of a therapeutic umbrella guiding her forward toward recovering. As part of the Safe Harbor Connections program, she now has a part-time job, is doing volunteer work, and will begin taking college courses again. As parents, you never really stop worrying about your children--even when they are adults--but through the life-affirming program at Safe Harbor, we now have renewed hope in our daughter\'s on-going health and future. We are very grateful parents.
