Treatment Philosophy
At River Oaks, we have several different types of outpatient programs designed to meet the individual needs of each patient. Outpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs may be ideal for people who don’t have serious co-occurring disorders that would necessitate 24-hour supervision and for those who either don’t need medical detox or have completed it already.

River Oaks Treatment Center

I feel like a new person, I really turned a corner here. I have my support system and lots a healthy people in my sober network. I've got my sponsor and meetings lined up. I have my energy back & I feel confident about going home. Nurse Risha had very kind and encouraging words to share with me when I was in my first few days here and that made such a difference. Overall the staff here was kind and supportive. I was surprised that everyone knew my name. I enjoyed the groups very much over all, I enjoyed the ones where we interact more than the lecture classes but I learned a lot from those too. At first it was hard to sit through the classes all day but I got through it and learned a lot. Its a large campus and it took some getting used to but the campus is very beautiful. The fountains are peaceful and the nature trail is calming and serene, a great place to go for reflection. I learned that its important for me to not isolate and that I cant do this by myself. The fellowship here was great getting to know people in the same boat who have the same struggles and understand because were all helping each other. I very highly recommend River Oaks to any one who needs help.

Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Drug and alcohol rehab centers offer a range of options and programs designed to treat addiction and assist individuals in their journey to recovery. These programs cater to the diverse needs of those seeking help and offer varying levels of care.

What Happens in Drug and Alcohol Rehab?

Rehab involves multiple stages of care, each tailored to an individual’s unique journey. These stages typically include detox, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and aftercare. The specific level of care chosen depends on the individual’s needs and the severity of their substance use disorder.

Detox Programs

Detoxification, often referred to as detox, is a crucial initial step in addiction treatment. These programs are medically monitored and provide a safe environment for individuals to rid their bodies of harmful substances while receiving support from trained medical professionals. The goal of detox programs is to minimize the discomfort and risks associated with withdrawal symptoms, which can be severe for some substances. Medications are often prescribed to help ease these symptoms, making the process more manageable.

How Long Is Detox in Rehab?

Detox typically lasts between 3 to 7 days, although the duration can vary based on several factors, including the type and quantity of substances used, an individual’s overall health, and the severity of their addiction.

Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Inpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs provide a highly structured and supportive environment for individuals seeking recovery from addiction. Individuals reside within the treatment facility 24/7, receiving comprehensive care and therapy to address both the physical and psychological aspects of their addiction, including any co-occurring disorders that may be present. These programs offer a range of therapeutic modalities, including individual counseling, group therapy, and holistic approaches, all aimed at helping patients understand the root causes of their addiction and develop coping strategies.

Inpatient drug rehab is typically offered in 30-day programs, which are among the most popular options. However, the duration of treatment can be extended to 60 or 90 days, depending on the individual’s unique needs and the severity of their addiction. The longer stays often provide a more in-depth exploration of the issues underlying addiction and allow for a more comprehensive approach to recovery.

Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Outpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs offer a more flexible approach to treatment. Patients can continue living at home and maintaining their daily routines while attending scheduled therapy sessions and treatment appointments. These programs are highly effective for individuals with milder substance use disorders or those who have completed an inpatient program and are transitioning to a less intensive level of care.

Outpatient programs not only focus on addiction recovery but also teach patients valuable tools for aftercare and relapse prevention. The group therapy sessions often provide a supportive network of peers who can relate to each other’s experiences, fostering a sense of community and shared healing. The flexibility of outpatient treatment allows individuals to apply the skills they learn in real-life situations while receiving ongoing support from the treatment team.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

Paying for rehab can be intimidating, but it should never be a barrier to seeking help. There are various options for covering treatment costs, such as:

Does Insurance Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?
