Verify your coverageNot the best place to go if you have a dual diagnosis. Not much is provided for other mental illnesses here. You can\'t 12 step your way out of an anxiety disorder or ADD. Other than that, I am very grateful to have spent time at this facility. They really teach you a lot about your disease and about recovery. One of the male staff members was amazing at helping with stress/anger! Family days were great and very helpful for my family to understand addiction and codependency. Nurses were all exceptional and very kind. Talked me down through a lot of panic attacks. and were very comforting. Group therapy was so, so helpful. The patients in general are awesome, we all had so much support and love for each other, and it really helped with the whole experience. This place is great, but it\'s still a rehab, and it\'s hard! But so, so worth the work. NA/AA in the evening is very helpful as well. I loved the diadics and tech talks the most, they were very informative. Aftercare here I think has gotten better from when some of these reviews were posted... they assign everyone an after care coordinator now, and they help you set up meetings to go to in your area, therapy, IOP, halfway or 3/4 houses, etc. They have pretty good food, and I noticed that they do offer a lot of different dietary options to patients with food allergies or who are vegetarian. oh and uh, one woman is a very angry and bitter woman if any of the Brighton staff reads these things... I\'ll pray for her!
I totally rcommend this place for those wanting real help! All of the staff members are very competent in what they are doing. The minute you step in you know you are in good hand, even though, you feel stranger and very sick at the beginning, they are gonna be with you through all the steps, to make sure you get the most help possible. You of course starts with the detox, they have their own detox center btw, and this is really hard, but they give you things to take so its easier on you. After you are done there, you gonna start your program, which is like personalized, that means like you can choose certain things that are part of the program. Like you can choose some things and maybe if there is something that you do not like and you do not want to do because I don\'t know like before you did and you didn\'t like, they not gonna force it on you. I was like that too, there was a program step i really disagreed and the gave me an other option, so that was cool. They still take into consideration your thoughts, and it is so not like you are closed in some hospital or something, it is quite free and you get to like learn how to be more responsible in lie and so on. The program itself I feel like it really helped me to get off drugs, but mainly to understand certain things in my life that drive me to the point where I was very deep in my life, very dark and I was using and other things, and I feel like I am a new person now, like really different than how I was when I arrived at Serenity, if you would have met me before, you wouldn\'t believe that it was me. One thing that really helped me enormously was the music therapy class. I have been close to music all my life more or less, I used to play on a guitar and piano, but of course I abandoned it, and it was so magic to find it again, it was just like treasure. It really did help me through those rough patches when I was ready to abandon everything and continue with my bad life. Thankfully they didn\'t just let me pack up, they helped me out a lot, and persuaded me to stay and continue and the music was enormous part of that. It made me feel myself again, that little girl who used to be all happy and smiling. Now I can honestly say that I am again that little girl who is all happy and smiling. This is thanks to Serenity, you guys gave me and my family back that little girl!
