Michael was born and raised in the small town of Haddon Township, New Jersey. He started his journey in the addiction field when he began studying Addiction Counseling at Camden County College and worked as a tech at a Mental Health facility. After completing his Associates degree, he transferred to Drexel University where he obtained a degree in Behavioral Health Counseling. His studies focused on a combination of Motivational Interviewing, CBT and Substance Use Disorders. Michael is currently working towards a Master of Health Administration degree from Drexel University. Michael would describe himself as more observant than outspoken. He believes those suffering from addiction deserve a second chance at life and has a strong passion for helping others achieve sobriety. He believes two of the greatest qualities a person can have in life are being teachable and the ability to laugh at your own eccentricities.

Dr. Ximena Sanchez-Samper is a Board Certified Addictions Psychiatrist who trained at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) and completed her Addictions Fellowship through Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in 2004. Dr. Sanchez-Samper is an advocate of incorporating Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) into the comprehensive care of patients struggling with Alcohol and Opioid Use Disorders. Dr Sanchez-Samper is an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and enjoys lecturing nationwide on Substance Use Disorders identification, diagnosis and treatment.

Kim Cowan has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She has over 20 years experience working in addiction treatment, including both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. Kim’s background is in direct patient care, quality management, internal DEA compliance, and providing regional nursing oversight for outpatient treatment facilities throughout New England. Kim is dedicated in providing quality, safe, and compassionate patient care for those facing the challenges associated with addiction.
