I wanted to say a few words here about Best Drug Rehabilitation. I’ve been involved in addiction services all across the state, and I’ve seen a lot of different rehab centers. I’ve had several family members and loved ones suffer with addiction, and I have been graced by god that I myself have never been afflicted. But I do social work, so not only have I seen addiction first hand in my family and amongst my friends, but I work with current drug and alcohol addicts and recovering individuals alike to try to help better their lives in some way. I’ve seen the inside of dozens of rehab centers, either from a professional interest or because someone I knew was in the program. I’ve been moderately impressed or at least pleased with the centers that I have found, and in me experience there is no such thing as a, “bad”, drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation center. That doesn’t mean that some programs aren’t better or are more effective than others though. I’ve seen some programs that, though they had good intentions, either were understaffed or were operating off of an old methodology or rehabilitation technique that wasn’t entirely useful or up to date. I’ve seen other programs too that focused a lot on the individual’s experience at the center, what with the amenities and what not, but were a little lacking in the core strength of their program. Again, good intentions but the rehab program itself could have used some tweaking. Best Drug Rehabilitation came on to my radar when a close family friend was discovered to be abusing heroin, and his parents found Best Drug Rehabilitation and wanted to take him there. I was timid at first as I had never personally checked out this center. I did my research, spoke with staff, and toured the facility. This wasn’t just another tour of a rehab center either, this was a personal matter. One of my closest childhood friends was going to be going there. I walked away more than pleased with Best Drug Rehabilitation. Frankly I was highly impressed. Here was a rehab center that was finally getting it totally right! Best Drug Rehabilitation is a pleasant facility with pleasant amenities. It is not a resort. It is not a vacation. The facility and the activities are fun and enjoyable, but the focus is on rehab, rehab, and more rehab. The staff are some of the friendliest, yet also some of the most well structured and firm individuals I have ever met in the rehabilitation field. The program itself is varied, malleable, diversified, and it is compelling, intricate, and very, very well put together. I could not believe I had found such a gem tucked back away in the countryside of Michigan! Where has this center been all these years? I wish I had found them sooner. I thank god that my friend’s parents found BDR when they did. My friend is now clean and sober and has been for some time. I have made personal acquaintances with many of the staff at BDR, and have stayed in touch with them. I wish the best for this rehabilitation center, and I thank them for being a stellar rehab center and for saving my friend’s life! I am quite certain that my friend would have perished had BDR not intervened.
Serenity Point Recovery has helped me in more ways than one. When I arrived here, I thought it would be just for drug and alcohol abuse. After attending Relationships class and multiple sessions with my counselor, I realized I had a tendency to be codependent, which helped lead me to the drug and alcohol abuse. I have learned to identify that behavior and ways to grow and overcome it. I have also learned how to have the tough conversations with people at home that I needed to have. I have created an aftercare plan that I believe will be effective, as well as a relapse prevention plan. This program breaks down the behavior of addiction and shows you how to identify these behaviors. It also helps you develop the tools needed to cope in healthy ways. I strongly feel that Serenity Point Recovery has saved my life in this way, and I look forward to applying the tools I have learned here.
