Coming to Serenity Point I had issues with coping skills, communication, and isolating due to alcoholism. I ended up at Serenity Point after being turned away from approximately 20 different rehab facilities due to my health issues from congestive heart failure. Thankfully, the staff at Serenity took the chance and allowed me to attend. They made my stay very accommodating. I was able to use such groups as Smart Recovery, Staying Quit, Crooked Thinking, and Relapse Prevention to work through my communication and isolation issues. These groups also added excellent ways to identify triggers and new coping skills to go home with. My process group ran by my counseling helped the most with my recovery. Counseling sessions were very helpful. Serenity point has a fitness area that helped me continue to work at my recovery from congestive heart failure.
Loved one enjoyed the meal plan. No support for patients who are disoriented. It was a great facility but the patients can get abusive and in your face. Loved one was approached by prisoners while disoriented and was intimidated.
The staff really cares but it is a business so the cuts were being made when i was there at times very unorganized but again staff and councell were very caring and good any rehab it up to you to make what it is!!!! The staff, nurse, and counsellor and chef were very good. had no one to drive clients to church aa and other activity they were trying to figure that out when i was there.
