I went to this recovery program and its the best Ive been too! They have very caring and loving staff and people who will go out of there way to make sure all your needs are met. It felt like a vacation coming from New York, good weather, pool/gym!
Ms. Coretta always guided me and was always so welcoming, even if she was busy doing something she would either stop what she was doing or tell me what time to come back and every time I came back it was always taken care of. She always took her time to explain the process to me and never left me hanging. TA Big Frank, TA Cecil, Rosby, and Mr. Willie on night shift did their job extremely well. When I couldn't sleep at night we would talk for hours. If they were on your floor, they were there making sure everything was nice. I always felt safe because they were there. They were extremely helpful and I could relate to them on a personal level, we would have numerous conversations and it really helped me in my recovery. My case manager was great, Veronica was on it ever since the day I met her, giving me options and advocating for me which I didn't have last time. I met the Alumni Coordinators through the Alumni App, Leesa and Melissa were wonderful. Melissa has talked with me and my wife, she didn't even know me from adam but she really stepped up to help get me into treatment through the alumni app, she even came to see me. I have a special respect and gratitude for Ms. Melissa. Everyone on the alumni app makes you feel like you are family, its where most of my new friends came from. its a great community to have, they really encouraged me. I learned so much here about accepting that I don't have control over my addiction and surrendering to a new way of life. I had to be open and willing to let go of my old ways and life style. There's no other way around it. I learned about my depression and mental health. There's so many activities to do here, I enjoyed walking the campus. its beautiful with all the Spanish moss trees. It works if you work it and I'm ready to surrender and take advice and get involved. I was able to share a lot in group which helped me open up.
The Techs, therapists, nurse all were great and I am so grateful I chose recovery first as the treatment to get clean. Very highly.
