I left Rehab knowing the tools to use, but drank for about five months and then realized I just could not drink and stopped. I have 31 years of sobriety.
It was far enough away from home to feel like it was going to make a difference and it was up near my Dad so I would have his support while there as well. Also out of the entire state of Florida they were the only ones that I could afford that would even consider taking me. I can't recall the name of the grant but they received a grant from the state because I was a single mother who needed treatment. For the first time I felt like they actually cared about my recovery (other places...quite a few other places did NOT). I was afraid it was going to be lax like the others I had been too but it wasn't. It empowered myself and the others to take control and be responsible for ourselves and the quality of care and attention we received was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this facility; it exceeds all expectations even though they are a low cost facility. The staff really cares for you and your problems. They take the time to make sure that everyone there has the personal time and attention they need to succeed in their recovery. But they also teach you how to take care of yourself and your children if you have any. They were always supportive and patient and really have a genuine interest in you as an individual. Even though I relapsed after I left it wasn't due to anything they did or didn't do while I was there. I entered that rehab in tears and left feeling empowered and with all the tools I would need to stay sober. I knew that if I was to stay sober it would be because I wanted to and had the drive to. They taught me that.
I have been to a lot of places, and this one really made a difference in my life. The staff really made me feel like family. It was smaller and more personal. I really mattered to them. They invest themselves into each person they meet. they were just awesome
