This center helped save my life. They are a bare bones facility that cares for the individual. They have certainly changed the old school treatment plan they used to have. They work with the individual more than ever. I attended when it was a therapeutic community and again after they integrated a better individual approach and they helped me stay clean and sober.
Nursing and tech team very compassionate and normal.,,food beyond excellent..cleanliness not up to my par but acceptable I liked it because it was small and quaint.,groups sort of marginal.,my last stay there they had a man/woman who aggressed upon anyone and anywhere in her site..her constant inappropriate bursts were both disturbing and threatening..when I vented out loud that she:he needs to be at another facility I was loudly and aggressively shut down by one of the counselors..it was beyond insane..and that man should be taken off staff and reprimanded for his actions..it is not normal to having a fellow resident yelling at you all the time that you should go to hell..it frankly was the most upsurd experience I have ever had and tolerated without boundaries on any acute settings.
Endeavor! You have played the most significant part in my early recovery. A day doesn’t pass where an experience there does not jump into my defensive backfield, so-to-speak, and help me continue to clobber this disease. For those of you considering: My wife found Endeavor off a web search and the prospect of risking withdrawal symptoms and having to meet a bunch of strangers made me hesitant. Remarkably, it was NOTHING like I expected. The instilled culture is comforting and inviting. “Welcome to the winner’s circle. The only one who can revoke your membership is you,” were the first words the tech told me upon intake. That set the tone! I couldn’t possibly name everyone and every aspect (4th floor nursing staff, counselors/case worker, content and activities in the group, nightly HNI meetings, cafeteria meals and snack areas on the floors, etc.) Instead, should anyone have questions from someone who was there for over a month in 2022 at both the Kearney facility and the IOP house in Belleville, please feel free to contact me. Good luck! Alan
