Areas of Specialization
  • Family Program
Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
  • 12-Step
The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.
  • Military & Veterans Program
Military & Veterans in Recovery takes a military-centric approach when it comes to planning a successful road to recovery for our Service Members, Veterans, and their families (SVMF). Our staff members are trained to understand military-specific needs including language, norms, and beliefs and all facilities have received Psych Armor Certification. We offer intensive trauma treatment options to help this population recover as part of their individualized care such as ART, EMDR, SFBT, and more.
  • Mental Health Program
Our Mental Health Program implements a variety of therapies and treatment methods to care for our patients on an individual basis, according to their diagnosis. We treat mood, thought, and anxiety disorders using a combination of medications and therapy.
  • Eating Disorder Program
At the heart of our program are our exposures with food and movement. Our team will lead our clients in supporting exposure to grocery shopping, cooking skills, eating at restaurants, plating meals, and utilizing intuitive eating skills. Our movement program includes yoga twice per week as well as access to our instructor lead movement studio. Our goal is to attain experience working through triggers that may inhibit recovery and to find balance with food and joyful movement. We truly care about our clients and believe in an approach that is effective, but also realistic in producing intrinsic motivation for change. Being recovered from an eating disorder is possible and we are here to guide you on the path of healing.

The center is very nice. The accommodations are pretty nice as well. My issues were with the Counselors and the scheduling. They most definitely need better counselors. Most of them are full of themselves and are set in their mind frames. Your point of view and thoughts do not matter to them. Once they have made up their mind about what they think you are doing or saying, there is nothing that you can say as a patient that will change that. I almost feel like, my thoughts were not even listened to. As far as the scheduling goes, it's just with the timings of events. You are never told when the meetings are, you just have to sit and wait for the tech to say, we are leaving in 30 minutes or so. You have to wait on that info to plan your events. Different houses seem to follow different routines as well. I heard a few other houses complain that they were not getting the same benefits that we were getting. BEWARE: The COUNSELORS TALK TO YOUR FAMILY WITHOUT TELLING YOU AND AT TIMES EVEN CONVINCE THEM TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN INSURANCE REFUSES TO. At over $2K a day, that is a lot of money out of pocket.

Well I had a good experience at this facility. The staff and techs were understanding and willing to listen. There is always room for improvement but overall the experience was positive and I would recommend it to someone who needs helps.

I came to Banyan skeptical about the treatment and was pleasantly mistaken. The staff are incredible and really care about each of the patients. Groups were insightful and powerful. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for help.
