Jacob's Ladder at Brookside Farm

The real strength of Jacob's Ladder is the focus on the programming. Rather than focusing on any one specific model, they synthesize multiple proven techniques and allow the course of treatment to emerge through individual customization. The combination of active participation in a farming lifestyle (farm work as well as residential responsibilities), mindfulness, 12 steps, yoga and meditation, group and individual sessions, music and arts programs, and wilderness programs is phenomenal. Rarely can you find such and opportunity. The setting is amazingly peaceful, setting the tone for all that is to be discovered on the 6 month journey. Jacob's Ladder is designed to foster an awakening by creating a community of unconditional positive regard for self, other and the earth. To accomplish this, the setting and living quarters are simple. While clean and comfortable, individuals looking for luxury and pampering will not find what they seek at Jacob's Ladder. Those wishing to reprogram their mind using proven techniques in an amazing setting will be more than satisfied. I've got the fortunate viewpoint of watching the guys who have come in the program progress through their discovery and awakening. It's evident that short term treatment leaves a lot to be desired, and the six month regimented program is making a difference. The accomplishments of the young men who are finding themselves at Jacob's Ladder are humbling and inspiring!
