Verify your coveragewoman's only treatment with maximum of 14 women at a time. Older facility with very little to do when not in programming There were only 2 fulltime counselors and at night inexperienced staff "Babysitters". Not much more than an old skating rink "rehabbed" into a treatment facility. All exercise equipment was donated and most didn't work. No chance to reach out to the recovery community outside of the facility. However, if a woman is serious about recovery, it is sufficient.
I have been in several treatment programs in the past. But the Nova House was by far the best. We were kept busy everyday so as not to have a lot of down time. We were asked not to glorify our using times when just sitting around. Most of the staff are also in recovery. I feel they really understand all aspects of the disease of addiction. The staff keeps things real. We also have individual time with our counselor at least once a week. Or really whenever needed. They really just show a real concern for you. They also have family education groups. And offer family sessions if the client chooses to have one. I suffer from seizures myself and never felt safer any where as I did there. It's a truly safe environment all the way around.
I attended the program for four months. It turned my life around. Sad that some people refuse to do the work to get through the program and then blame everyone else instead of taking a long, hard look in the mirror. Once I took that long, hard look, positive changes happened in my life. Thanks ARC!
