After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, Paula went directly into human services, working as a University Counselor at SAGU. From there, she began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Regent University. She spent some time after that, working as a case manager for Residential Foster Care and then for Biogen Idec as a Patient Services Coordinator II. Just before joining the team at HORC, Paula was leading the way in mental health education as Resident Director at Lee University. For Paula, the most fulfilling job is partnering with clients as they work towards their personal, professional, or health related goals. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, clients can explore their needs, gain insights, and begin to heal long standing hurts. When she isn’t helping clients heal, she can be found enjoying the outdoors with her family, kayaking, white water rafting, and canoeing.
