    Meet the Pros
    Dean Sims (LCDC)
    Dean Sims (LCDC)
    Clinical Director
    AIM Recovery Center
"To achieve lasting change, you have to change at the emotional level. It took me 20 years to realize this. I had gone through trial and error, attempt after attempt, and I got nowhere but depressed. In my mind, I wanted to change, but just couldn’t stick with it. Once I learned to address the underlying causes, my emotions no longer fought against my mind, and I was able to quit my own addictions, and stay quit. That’s the trick! I can teach you to do that too at AIM, and it won’t take 20 years! For me, there is nothing more rewarding than working with clients as they identify their core recovery issue. I help clients find their own life purpose and create a life vision for themselves; something more meaningful than using drugs or alcohol. I know my purpose is working with clients just like you at AIM. What’s your life purpose or vision for yourself? I’m intensely interested in finding out."

    Greenhouse Alumni Coordinator
    Greenhouse Outpatient Treatment Center
Jeremiah joined American Addiction Centers in 2015 as the Greenhouse Alumni Coordinator. Originally, from Washington State, Jeremiah is, himself, an alumnus of Greenhouse. Because he has seen first-hand how addiction hurts people and destroys families, he is proud to be in a position to work with other Greenhouse alums, supporting the constructive process of recovery. Planning events, talking with clients, and raising awareness are just a few of his goals with our Alumni graduates.
    Michael Whalin
    Michael Whalin
    Director of Operations
    Banyan Texas
Michael Whalin was born and raised in Nevada. There, he attended Douglas High School in Minden where he was a 3-sport varsity athlete. During his senior year of high school, after a devastating life event, he had his own struggle with addiction. Fortunately, in 2015, Michael became sober and built himself a new life from the ground up. Michael began his work in the addiction field as a house manager for a sober living facility. He then took a job in a different treatment facility where he worked nearly every position. This experience allowed him to learn the ins and outs of how to operate a treatment center. Michael now serves as a Director of Operations for Banyan Treatment Centers in Texas.
