She started as support staff in a psychiatric hospital and moved diligently through the ranks all the way to Executive Clinical Director. In her distinguished career, she has developed two clinical outpatient programs and two residential programs. Hanna's passion is to establish effective, evidence-based and fun treatment programs throughout the country. She believes that clients need to be treated holistically, which includes all of the levels of being a human being: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social. Hanna is passionate about her work. Her passion stems from her own struggles with substance abuse and from her own successful long-term recovery. Hanna believes in people's ability to reach long-term emotional recovery through proper treatment and support. Nobody is ever beyond help for her. Hanna earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Utah in 2013. Hanna believes in life-long learning and self-improvement. Since then, she has worked on learning different evidence-based modalities in treating addictions and mental health issues, especially trauma and personality disorders. Hanna is an EMDR certified clinician, as well.

    Over the last 16 years, Ben has enjoyed working with clients and families in conditions ranging from in-home consultations, outpatient offices, wilderness treatment, and adult residential treatment. Addiction and mental health treatment are issues close to Ben’s heart and motives his desire to help create a unique treatment experience for individuals and families. As Clinical Director, Ben enjoys working with passionate and gifted clinicians and professional program staffs that believe in helping clients reconnect with personal values and moving beyond the labels of addiction. Teaching, empowering, and supporting courageous transformations everyday are some of the many things that keep Ben excited about the work that is happening at Chateau Recovery.

    Desmond Lomax comes to Steps Recovery Center with 20 years of experience in management, programming, and treatment. He recently retired as the Director of Community Programming for the Department of Corrections. His efforts in that position were recognized by the State of Utah and The Utah Fall Substance Abuse Conference when he was awarded the 2019 Patrick J. Fleming Award for contributions to the Substance Abuse community. Desmond has a background as a Clinical Director, Therapist, and Law Enforcement Officer for the past 20 years. He has been an adjunct professor for the University of Utah teaching classes in Forensic Social Work for the Master of Social Work program. He loves to present on multiple substance abuse topics and has done so throughout the country. He is a Master Facilitator for the Arbinger Institute and trains organization across the United States on having and maintaining an Outward Mindset. He has a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelors in Political Science and Sociology. He is a BYU Football Alumni who played on the 1996 BYU Football team that was ranked 5th in the country. Most importantly, he is a Husband to his lovely wife for the past 23 years and the father of 4 amazing children. He is humbled to have this opportunity to work for such amazing people.
