More Info
Info on Turlock (CA) Rehabilitation Programs Located in California's San Joaquin Valley about 90 minutes south of Sacramento, the city of Turlock is an agricultural town, like so many in that part of the Golden State. In addition, many men pursue construction occupations while women are most often engaged in education professions. It's worth noting that unemployment has been rising in this community over the past several years, even as California as a whole has been enduring a series of budget crises. Not all who face economic pressures turn to alcohol and drugs. Across the board however, about 10 percent of all Americans will have a substance abuse problem at some point in their lives.

Only about 27 percent of those who have alcohol issues seek treatment. There is help available for everyone who wants to conquer their dependency, however.

The Chicken or the Egg?

Research has established that construction workers have the highest rates of substance abuse. It is possible that job stress plays into this, as well as peer pressure. However, some researchers aren't so certain, and believe that construction work may simply attract people who are more inclined to drink.

What You Need to Ask Before Enrolling in Treatment

Once you have made the decision to recover, there are some things you will want to know about the program:

  • Are detox services available? Alcohol dependency has a physical component that may require medication.
  • Is there a 12-step component in the treatment plan? Historically, this has been very successful in helping people to maintain sobriety.
  • Are the counselors licensed and credentialed?
  • Is the facility accredited by the State of California?
  • Is aftercare part of the program?
