Dr. Green received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas in 1996 and his Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He had originally trained in anesthesiology, but after confronting his own addiction issues in 2004 decided to train in psychiatry and dedicate himself to helping those who struggle with addiction and co-morbid mental illness. Dr. Green completed his psychiatry residency training at John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth, TX. He has worked at Terrell State Hospital, North Texas State Hospital and with the Right Step Treatment Centers. Dr. Green is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Dr. Green believes that effective treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction should address co-occurring disorders, and that treatment must be holistic, strength-based, and multidisciplinary. He focuses on the biological, interpersonal, holistic and spiritual aspects of alcohol and drug addiction, as well as their interaction with depression, anxiety, trauma and mood disorders. He strives to give clients individualized care that gives them the opportunity to live a sober and abundant life one day at a time.

Melanie has counseled hundreds of clients in residential treatment. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and she has a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Addiction Studies. Melanie has obtained her MA in Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She has worked in several residential treatment facilities and intensive outpatient programs. Melanie is experienced with clients of all ages and she has extensive experience working with families. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused techniques, and is EMDR trained. She takes an existential attitude with any approach she employs. She is passionate about her work and believes freedom from addiction is available to all who are willing to work a recovery program.

In his extensive practice working as a therapist, case manager, and sober coach at Greenhouse Treatment Facility, Carrell has always facilitated group and individual therapy with an eye to an individual’s whole journey in recovery. Actively involved in the client’s long-term strategy, Carrell encourages 12-Step networking, assists with sober living placement, and offers clients a clear view of the landscape of aftercare. An active member in good standing of Alcoholics Anonymous for over a decade, Carrell has spoken for nationally-recognized organizations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and has volunteered at the local affiliation of Chemical Awareness, Resources, and Education (C.A.R.E.). Carrell recently became a Certified Daring Way Facilitator (CDWF), the cutting edge process on shame resilience and vulnerability, established by Brene’ Brown.
