Dr. Krieger is a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a peer accepted member of The Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), a Board Approved Clinical Hypnotherapist (CHt), a Master Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP), and a Board Qualified Supervisor. His wide-ranging interests have led to studies in Clinical Social Work, Hypnotherapy, Trauma, Clinical Sexology, Art History, Computer Science, Marketing, Advertising, and the Liberal Arts in New York, Florida, and Switzerland. A graduate of Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Services. Dr. Krieger was awarded Fordham’s Rev. J. McCarthy Award for Outstanding Academic and Field Achievement and has trained clinically at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, The Manhattan Psychiatric Center, The Albert Ellis Institute in Manhattan, The Wellness Institute, and Miami’s Trauma Resolution Center. Shawn is a senior member of the staff and has been with 1st Step for over 10 years. Shawn came to 1st Step as a client in 2005 and started her journey of recovery. She knew that she was in a special place and wanted to be a part of helping others change their life just as she did. Over time, Shawn has become one of the pillars here. She quickly progressed in the company, starting as a Behavioral Health Tech and is now the Medical Staff Support Supervisor. Her continued education, passion and personal experience is what makes her such an integral part of 1st Step. Shawn is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and meeting with every client to ensure they are receiving the help they need. Shawn not only takes care of our clients at 1st Step but also takes her care-taking skills home with her to look after her three dogs, two cats, and two ducks. Shawn will soon be a Registered Nurse as she finishes her schooling at the end of 2015.

Dr. Antonio De Filippo is triple board certified in Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Addiction Medicine and is a leading mental health authority in South Florida. Dr. De Filippo’s extensive experience includes senior executive positions at many local Institutions including Spectrum Programs, Archways Community Mental Health Center, Susan B. Anthony Community Mental Health Center, Miami Behavioral Health, and the Broward County Health Planning Council. Dr. De Filippo is currently the CEO of South Florida Psychiatric Services. He is also a speaker for several major pharmaceutical corporations and is frequently requested as a consultant and trainer for national medical advisory meetings. Dr. De Filippo graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami and received his medical degree from the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine. He returned to Miami to complete his residency training at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. Doctor De Filippo is currently an adjunct professor of psychopharmacology at Nova University Medical School.
