Loving and caring center that care about their patients and their familiesI can't think of anyA loving and caring staff that care about their patients and their families.
Great Oaks was a life changer for me! The nurses ensure that you are comfortable throughout your stay especially during detox. The counselors have the clients best interest and were very good! The classes during the day are very helpful and also help one realize the importance of being involved in AA. They even give you a big book! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Made a huge impact in my life!
I loved this facility with the exception of my counselor. He led my process group 3 days out of the week. He talks too much & he doesnt seem to fully understand substance abuse/addiction. I didnt agree with a majority of the things he chose to discuss during groups or his process groups. He was unorganized & would ask me the same questions over & over. He waited until the last minute to complete my discharge paperwork & even forgot to get my signature. I was flying out that morning. Hes a nice guy and means well, but I wish I had requested a different counselor earlier on at my stay there. The other counselors and staff are phenomenal. The ranch is set on beautiful land. Accommodations were great as well. PrTMS was very beneficial for me, although it is extremely expensive. Overall it was a great atmosphere and Im very grateful I got the opportunity to go there. Great treatment opportunities. Great staff available for working the steps. Cleaning crew & meals provided. Allow clients to use phones every day. My specific counselor. Ranch is located so far out that it was strenuous going to outside meetings in San Antonio. Also they seem to be very understaffed as well.
