A forever recovery was the best experience of my life. I had a horrible coke problem and am proud to say I was a year clean and sober yesterday. The case managers care so deeply about every patient there. They don't candy coat anything though. If you're wrong, they will put you in your place, which is exactly what you need when you have been living by your own rules for so long and need someone to help direct you in the right way again. I hated it in the beginning, i felt like the staff were all jerks and i was being treated unfairly. But that's what you need to really get sober, in my opinion. Of course the staff isn't going to take any level for crap from patients, they are dealing with drug addicts. we are, by nature, people who will do anything to get our way. The drivers, the staff, at the facility and who live in the homes with you are all amazing people. This place has great group sessions and a really effective family program. It's true, it's only what one makes of it to really get the most out of it. I appreciated all of the hard work that the case managers did for me. I swear, pick afr if you need help.
Overall my time here was great. I was not excited about being put in as an inpatient, but the staff, environment, treatments and people I met there were definitely life changing.
Driving up to the center here at behavioral rehabilitation was an experience in itself. It was such a beautiful and relaxing drive. Once arriving to the center we were greeted by an amazingly friendly employee. She was very polite and assisted my spouse in getting out of the car to walk him up to the building and called someone out to get his luggage. It was a great first impression of how the center was going to run and how the care was going to be that was given to him. After entering the building they gave him some water and had him fill out some paperwork along with getting his vitals taken. We were able to say our goodbyes and he was soon onto the recovery process. The first day was very hard for him and he was going through sever withdrawals, but he was assisted and guided along the way. Once he was stabilized and done with the detox process he was then able to begin the recovery process as a whole. They do 24 7 onsite counseling here to get to the root of the issue and underlying problems associated with the addiction process and are willing to put in as many hours needed to get to the root of the issues at hand. He learned how to cope with urges that he was getting and gained insight and knowledge on how to appropriately handle them. He was dealing with his frustration in a positive way and he was gaining control and was becoming determined on his relapse prevention goals. I just can not thank the staff enough on well cared for he was while being there. Knowing that he was in good hands also made it less stressful on me leaving because you could genuinely feel the warmth and care in their voices and on their faces when it comes to helping people.
