    Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center

Best Drug Rehabilitation saved my husband’s life. I consider myself very lucky that Best Drug Rehab was the place my husband ended up going to for treatment. When I realized my husband was struggling with drug addiction I was pretty much lost on what to do. Didn’t really know the difference between rehabs and the different programs they offer. I wasn’t sure what kind of program would benefit my husband the most. When I was recommended Best Drug Rehab by a friend I called the number and the person I ended up talking to about BDR was knowledgeable and really helped me understand the different programs they offer at BDR. I was really happy to find that they had different programs there and that the patient picks the one he thinks with help him the most. My husband was raised with religion whereas I was not. I wasn’t sure if the faith based program would be right for him and was extremely relieved that I wouldn’t have to make that decision for him. After he got out of detox he was able to sit down with his counselor and decide which to do. He really liked being able to choose which program he would do. In my eyes, it made him more responsible for his own recovery. The staff there were very helpful to him. A lot of them have gone through their own struggles with addiction. If you’ve never struggled with addiction and try to help that person most things you say can be dismissed because you don’t really know what exactly it is they are going through. You don’t know what it feels like to come off drugs or how bad the cravings can hit. My husband listened more to the people who had been through it. He was able to take comfort in the fact that those staff had gone through their recovery and were doing really well. One of the things my husband really liked about BDR was the different things he was able to do after his classes for the day were done. He really enjoyed going to the gym to work out. They have a really nice gym there and a personal trainer on staff to help make sure your time spent in the gym is productive. He tried yoga for the first time there and while he doesn’t do it now he really enjoyed that class while he was there. He said that when he had yoga class in the morning he was better able to concentrate throughout the day. By the time he graduated his program there he was back to the man I had fallen in love with and married only he was even better. He was happier and more alert. Willing to do more activities with me. I was still worried when he came home. Wasn’t sure if the program would stick for him or if he would end up relapsing like so many others. However, each day I have my husband back clean and sober has been great. It’s been 2 years now since he went to BDR and he has remained clean and sober since then. He hasn’t even wanted to touch drugs or alcohol. I am so grateful to BDR and what the facility did for my husband. They truly saved his life and I don’t know or even want to think about what would have happened had my husband not gone there.

    Behavioral Rehabilitation Services

Behavioral rehabilitation services is really a great rehab with amazing staff member who are very caring. I went there cause i had a prescription drug addiction, and it has gotten quite out of hand. I was really adducted. At first it started if course cause I had a surgery after I broke my leg, and so I got painkillers, and than I took quite a lot at the beginning, cause i could not stand the pain, than I could not stop, cause when I did I felt more sick, so yes I became addicted. This was bad, really bad actually, all I was into before I went out was to take my pills before, and I couldn\'t be without taking them. As my family and friends noticed, I was weird, acting strange, spent too much time in the bathroom, and so on, I was hiding it of course. Than I told my big brother about it and he said I need to get help, I agreed, it got really out of hand. I went to behavioral rehab services and I really felt good already when I arrived. The place is really nice, it felt like I was on vacation, and when my family visited, honestly they were positively surprised. They liked the place too, and it was nice they could come and visit. It is important cause I did no feel like I was in some hospital or prison, they made me feel good there and they did not judge me. I was there cause I wanted to get help, and honestly I dud get very good help. I got off the pills, and I learned about many things and git personal counseling and fixed some issues I had. It felt really good again to be myself again. It was also nice to do activities and different courses with the guys who were there too, some of them I still talk to. And also some staff I became friends with, we chat time to time. The rooms were really nice too where I stayed, and I also enjoyed the food, there was always a new menu, so they really payed attention to every detail, to make sure we were good and paid more attention to our recovery. All the staff were super nice and very professional, I say if you wanna get off drugs, don\'t hesitate to go to behavioral rehab services, they gonna help you through it.

Hank started his work in the addiction field in 1984, working in an open ward detoxification unit in Holyoke Massachusetts. In 1985, Hank returned to school and earned both his undergraduate degree and his master’s in social work (MSW) from Springfield College. He is independently licensed, holding both an LCSW and LADC 1 in both the states of Maine and Massachusetts. Hank has worked in every facet of the treatment continuum, both in the public and private sectors. His body of work includes a diversity of positions as a program coordinator and director, primary therapist and supervisor, business development advocate, and clinical and contract oversight lead of several multi-state systems. Since 2011, Hank’s focus has been on working with individuals and families affected by addiction and dependency issues in his private practice located in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Hank’s personal recovery started in 1982 in his home town of Springfield Massachusetts. He has been married to his wife Noreen for more than 32 years and has five children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, running, and spending time with his family. “Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Maine working and playing on my grandparents and aunt and uncle’s dairy farms in the Kennebunk area. Coming to work for Foundation House is like coming home for me. Maine has always been a magical, healing, and safe place for me. Coming from a terribly dark and painful place, desperation drove me into recovery in 1982, but my gratitude for the gifts of recovery has kept me here for more than 36 years. I was trained and worked as a fire fighter prior to coming into recovery and I am incredibly grateful for the skills I’ve developed, and the privilege I am afforded, to provide a life-line to individuals and families to lead them from the maelstrom of dependence to the freedom of recovery.”
