Banyan Saved My Life! My expectations were beyond met and my stay here was perfect. All the staff here was great and I have not one complaint about Banyan!!!!!
I've had the best experience here, I don't even want to go home. Its incredible. I've tried everything I can to stay longer because its helped my metal health and to make life changes. The people here are incredible. The staff has been so helpful. Care Coordinator Mattie really made me feel involved and welcomed me by helping me become a big brother. She and always has a positive attitude. Ms. Trina helped me understand I have a calling to help others. When I see someone smile it makes me feel blessed. She helped me to calm down several times and helped me understand how to get the most out of this experience. The family therapist Ray and Ian, their knowledge is incredible. They put everything together in way you can understand. The groups give you so many tools and concepts. Everything they speak about impacts my life and tells my story. Mindfulness and self esteem classes were so helpful. I attended the Veterans groups with Therapist Christine and Brian and they helped me understand that I act on impulse at times and how to be honest while working on my impulses. It really hit home learning about how my body and brain functions contributed to my addiction. I played volleyball at 4:30 every single day, we did campus clean up, hands on activities were really engaging. I especially loved being a big brother. Being able to mentor people gave me a sense of purpose and service to others which helped me lift a lot of my shame and rebuild my self worth. The community here helped me not to isolate and instead do fun activities and feel involved and a part of the community. I plan on going to 90 meetings in 90 days and finding a good church and a sponsor and doing sober living.
