I realize it is unusual times with COVID. The treatment plan and services listed on the Arrow Passages were scaled back. While there, my child was more focused on art and making bracelets than an actual treatment plan. He was a private pay for 2 months at the price tag of 36K. The facility stated he was ready for release at 60 days. After his release he struggled and now is in a worse situation than before he was admitted. Now I struggle with keeping him safe and the next steps. On the quality of care --he was fed, provided recreation, and counseling but a valid post release treatment strategy with follow-up is lacking. He has no housing and life skills to even work. He had two different counselors at Arrow and the last one did not return inquiry calls.--the three times I tried to provide info or to receive an update. I didn\'t need housing for my son......needed help and still do,
Plenty of opportunity to go to local AA meetings, and get help obtaining housing upon release. The counselors need better training. Overall it does help but you must keep treating yourself when you leave.
The facility was extremely nice. It was an actual house and holds a small number of residents. There are counselers who were once addicts themselves and are understanding. There are lectures that explain the physiology of addiction and treatment. Very expensive and many insurance companies will not cover. There is inpatient and outpatient treatment at the Ridge. Inpatient is 30 days and residents stay in a secluded house that has large bedrooms and there is a pool. There is an in house chef. Residents are transported by bus to AA meetings, therapy sessions and field trips such as trips to the YMCA. After completion of inpatient there are outpatient sessions to attend as well.
