I thought I was done for. I had went thru many surgeries (including brain surgery) and I have autoimmune issues. I was using percocet and morphine. In addition to chronic pain, I have depression and anxiety issues. One night, I had just had enough and I told my hub I needed help. I started searching the web and Advanced Rapid Detox was the first site to pop up. I called and talked to a staff member and she immediately eased my fears. Once I knew I was going there for sure, I texted her at all hours, to ask EVERYTHING I could possibly think of. Can I bring PJ's? Do I need make up? Am I really gonna be under sedation THAT long? Will I wake up freaking out? DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING! She and her medical staff are simply amazing. I had gotten to know her pretty good just by talking on the phone. I had to fight a little to get in. But I would not take no for an answer. After getting everything cleared, getting the money, and getting a date to start the detox process, I COULD NOT wait to get there. Thank God we only live 3 hours from ARD but people from all over come here for treatment. I haven't had any horrible withdrawals. I slept through it all. I DID withdrawal but I was under sedation and I had a nurse, assigned especially for me. The care you recieve at ARD is superb. They make you feel like family. I can't say enough about this place. If you need anything, they are there in a hot second. The Vivitrol shot will keep cravings at bay. Seriously, if you are thinking about getting clean, this is the easiest way to do it. My life is changing and it's only for the best. I felt like a princess there. And ZERO judgment!! If you are taking steps to get clean, please check this place out!
I first came across A Forever Recovery at least 7 years ago, when I was looking for a place to send my son. While reading some of the things said about AFR I decided against sending him there. There were far too many reviews about AFR stating that it was a recruiting center for a cult, and I didn’t want my son going to a place like that. My son spent the 6 years in and out of rehab and every time I started looking for a new place to send my son to, I’d see the advertisements for AFR and finally after 6 years with absolutely no improvement in my son’s life, I figured it might just be easier to get him out of a cult that to get him off drugs, so I finally called them. Turns out, that don’t us the same programs that they used to, and they have no affiliation with that cult anymore. They still have an impressive set-up and the more I heard about AFR, the more I was almost excited at the prospect of my son going there. AFR has different programs for the clients to choose from. There’s not a one size fits all mentality to treatment there and I thought that, more than anything would help my son. In fact, I’m almost ashamed to admit that it didn’t ever occur to me that my son might be doing the wrong program for him. Whenever he’d relapse, I always thought it was him, just not trying enough. Because I thought he wasn’t putting in the effort to get sober, I never considered that he might need a different program, so I always sent him to 12-step programs because the 12-step program has been around for so long, it’s the only one I knew anything about, and so it was the only kind of program my son had ever gone to. When my son went to AFR he was able to choose a program that he felt comfortable doing and his attitude towards his recovery changed immediately after choosing the SMART program. He was putting more effort than ever before to get a recovery program done right. The clients at AFR are moved forward on their programs based on their individual progress. It’s not a 30-day or any other amount of days type of place. My son stayed at AFR for 18 weeks because he wanted to. My son started AFR liked he started so many other programs, irritated he had to go back to rehab, wanting to get it done as quickly as possible and not working as hard as he should have. After going through detox, seeing the different programs they have and spending time figuring out what he wanted to do, his whole attitude changed about being there. All of a sudden it wasn’t an annoyance he had to get through to appease me, it was something that could really help him stay sober and he was very happy about that. Going to A Forever Recovery gave my son a better chance at sobriety than all the other rehabs he’s gone to. I’m really glad I finally gave AFR a chance because going through his program has saved my son’s life. He got home last week, and I’ve never seen him so determined to stay sober. He’s doing everything he’s supposed to be doing, calling up to AFR, checking in and continuing his aftercare program. Our entire family’s life has changed for the better because of my son’s stay at AFR and I’m incredibly grateful for everything they did for him and everything they’ve continue to do since he’s come home.
They have years in operation but limited size and lots of experience.
