We were looking for a tech-friendly treatment center for a good friend and we’re so happy we found Luxe Recovery. My friend is a busy executive and Luxe was able to accommodate. He’s since left their program and is doing very well. He always mentions to me how blessed he feels, I just want to say Thank you.
I stayed at BFC for a total of 5 months. From detox to inpatient to day treatment to intensive outpatient. I was lucky to have been able to come through Betty Ford. For me it took this long just to be able to function outside of treatment with some confidence that I could make it without drinking or using again. While my experience at Betty Ford was not perfect, I could not, and would not want to imagine myself in recovery anywhere else. Not only was the Betty Ford Center able to help me in my journey of recovery, they also helped my family. The family program at Betty Ford Center is unlike any of its kind, anywhere. The things that were not perfect at BFC are the same imperfections that would be found at any good treatment center. To clarify: 1. It isn't cheap, however what is the cost of saving a human life? It wasn't so long ago that Betty Ford didn't take insurance, AT ALL. 2. From what I experienced the administration, counselors, nurses and support staff, many of whom are in recovery themselves, are caring, attentive and are good at their jobs because they are doing the job they want to be doing...and it shows. However, Betty Ford is a big organization even if you are just dealing with the Rancho Mirage campus, communication is not always perfect and sometimes patients have to be more diligent about getting the services they need. 3. Relapse happens after treatment, believe it or not it sometimes happens during treatment. I saw friends I made at BFC relapse and come back, some did not come back. Some people do not want to get sober; some people do want to get sober but are not being honest with themselves, with peers or with staff; some people really truly do want sobriety and are willing to be honest and do whatever is necessary to get and keep it. Much of the time I saw that my peers in that third group were most likely to succeed. I say most likely...nothing is ever guaranteed. The Betty Ford Center is, has been, and I hope always will be a place of experience, strength, hope and serenity in the fight against the corrosive effect that drugs and alcohol have on those who suffer as well as their friends and loved ones.
