Would not provide transportation home and had to drive 2 hours to get there. Reported to Tx. Mental Authorities. Did't ask to be taken there.

BE AWARE.... PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY! My son was transported here for detox from a long road of addiction. One of the very first phone calls I received from my son, I answered the phone and all I could hear was screaming from a female, she was saying shut the f___ up you junky, why don\'t you leave and go get some more dope!!!! I kept saying hello, hello, finally my son said mom, did you hear all that, I said yes, where are you, (I am thinking he left treatment and got into a car with a random crazy person) this was not the case at all, my son said mom, I am still at West Oaks, that is a staff member saying all of that to me. I was taken back and in total shock. I started calling any and every number I could find to get in touch with the Director of the hospital or anyone that would listen to me so that I could tell my story of what I actually heard with my own ears. I was appalled at the response I received, NONE of the staff on unit 3 speak english well enough to understand them, I was given the runaround for hours. I was transferred twice to two different voicemails, one the supervisor, the other being a person they said was over the supervisor, BOTH voicemails were full!!! At this point, I was not a bit surprised because I had yet to find one person that would take accountability for anything at this facility. THERE IS ONE THING I LEARNED FROM THIS, sadly if my son would have told me this happened to him, I would not have believed him and would have thought he was just trying to get out of treatment.... FORTUNATELY FOR MY SON, he was smart enough to call me and not have the phone to his ear, therefore the staff member did not see that he was on the phone, as my son said, this had already been going on for a good 5 minutes.... once my son picked up the phone and the staff member realized someone was on the other end and heard all of this, she walked away and was refusing to give my son her name, however we did end up getting this. Of course to save her job, she denied ALL OF IT! I ask the facility if they recorded their phone calls because they would be able to clearly hear what took place, and how convenient for them, they said calls are not recorded. I cannot possible began to tell you all the other inconsistencies that took place, I would have to write a book on this. I AM JUST SO SAD FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT HAVE A VOICE TO SPEAK FOR THEM.... I KNOW MY SON IS NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO, HE WAS JUST THE LUCKY ONE THAT GOT HIS MOM ON THE PHONE TO HEAR WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE MENTALITY OF SO MANY IS THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE A DRUG ADDICT, THEY ARE NOT TO BE BELIEVED, ITS JUST SAD..... The addict is already suffering enough and at their worst when they come to a place like this for help, the last thing they need to hear is that they are just a junky and should leave and go find some dope.... JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, THE VERY NEXT DAY THE WORKER WAS STILL THERE - I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT IT WAS EVEN NOTED ON HER CHART! I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR EVERYONE.....

They worked close with family & kept everyone informed during this family ordeal. Its an older building . i truly think it could be more effective if things were up to date , but i also understand funding. Addiction is very much mental as it is physical so everything that can stimulate the mind to the positive is essential to a successful recovery... long term that is
