Promises Scottsdale - A Promises Behavioral Health Company

Promises Scottsdale does NOT “feel like a mental health retreat”. It is a lock down facility utilizing a highly structured environment with strict rules and regulations. I felt imprisoned, but I was not there for substance or self-harm abuse. The Women’s Mental Health program appears to be geared toward drug and/or alcohol abuse, self-harm, and suicidal ideation vs. trauma, depression and anxiety.

Avoid this facility at alll cost! Avoid this facility at all cost! Research Promises Scottsdale thoroughly. The admissions department is full of a bunch of lies. The medical doctor is demeaning, unprofessional, disrespectful and just a downright jerk. The staff are disorganized they are unlicensed monitors that dont care about you. They dont follow through with any of their patients medical needs. They claim to be a detox facility capable of managing detox but theres no doctor or licensed nurse on site. They will send you to the ER rather than call the doctor. The ED avoids any resolution or solution to resolve egregious mistreatment to the patients. This place looks pretty but its a total disaster. Again, do research . The online reviews speak volumes. The only plus are the therapist excluding thr ED. There are many treatment facilities in Arizona, avoid this one at all cost. They have a store run to buy tobacco and chew but if you need any other personal toiletries they refuse. The staff will refuse to call 911 when you need professional medical care. Yet they state they will manage your symptoms and any episodes. The psychiatrist does not speak English. You cant understand anything he says. Other than good food and a good therapist. Go to a restaurant and find a private thetapist. Again, avoid this facility at alll cost. I was traumatized by the experience there. The monitors dont have a clue . Theu blame their patients for all their faults. Again, avoid Promises At all cost. Save yourself from the trauma . It’s horrible example of a treatment facility. Looks good but its quite toxic. Research reviews speak volumes. Stay away from Promises its a disgrace to the treatment field.

My son went here and it was the worst possible experience for someone serious about recovery and needing help. Staff just did not care about the patients, no communication with parents, or even each other. Different answer depending on who you speak to. Seem more concerned about insurance coverage than recovery. My son was discharged with no follow up plan and only a two daysupply of medications. Couldn't even get an appointment for a new doctor in two days! Horrible experience please avoid this place.

This program is amazing. The therapists are some of the best I’ve ever seen and extremely caring. I went to other treatment centers that didn’t charge money up front and not only did I not receive the kind of treatment that this place provides I got a huge bill. They really make every effort to help people recover and work with families too. It is a great program and I recommend it to everyone I know
