I’m 16 years old now(I was 16 when I went to the ridge) and I’ve been to this place twice. The food is absolute trash. You can’t request what you want to eat which sucks because only their chicken nuggets taste good. They charged $850 for my first stay and $1250 for my second stay. I think they should be using that money to get food that’s tasty for the hospital if they are going to charge patients that. It’s freezing cold in there. They only want prescribe shitty SSRIS when there are vitamin supplements for anxiety disorders that don’t come with all the bad side effects. No therapy. Group sucks because it’s the same group session every time I went never anything new or helpful. The billing department won’t answer the phone when you need to discuss paying the bill. They need to get an ocd trained therapist for the teen unit I had no one to help me with my intrusive thoughts. Except the doctor who told me intrusive thoughts don’t count as homicidal ideation that made me feel reassured. At least I didn’t have access to my phone there where I could do the reassurance seeking compulsion that’s the only good thing I have to say about this hospital.

Zero de-escalation training. Staff is punitive with patients. Violated my patient rights and rights under the ADA on multiple counts (right to compassionate care, right to privacy, and right to clear and effective communication- all of these on multiple counts.) Not safe for LGBT patients, refused to honor my request not to be called by my birth name and to keep my birth name private. And on top of it all, they committed a HIPAA violation in my paperwork by providing me with a sheet containing another patient's FULL NAME and PATIENT ID among my own discharge paperwork. When I called to let them know they had done this, they replied "there's nothing we can do because she's probably already left." Which is another HIPAA violation; patients are required to be notified when their privacy has been breached. Legally, someone ought to lose their job over that one. Released me still having psychotic symptoms and thoughts of harming myself and others, with no safety plan and no çommunication with my boyfriend- after I signed an ROI so that they could communicate with him. On my second day I spoke to a nurse practitioner who told me she would send a prescription for a higher dose of my antipsychotic. She didn't! Told me to follow up with my therapists office for med management- which she doesn't provide! Her office is just her! It's her own company! She's the only one! I was unable to get med management for two weeks! I went into the hospital for med stabilization! Might as well stay home, my stay here made me worse.

I didn't like how the first shift was towards me they had a lot of additude and raising their voices, and that triggered me a lot,2nd shift was a whole lot better you can ask for stuff and they will help in every way to make sure you get what you need, I didn't like the fact they gave me 2 year old 2019 CHOCOLATE MILK,it was the most disgusting thing that I've ever had in my mouth, also had hair in my food I hope this teaches them they need to check their food and milks often so this doesn't happen to someone else their groups were boring I didn't learn anything really from it I felt I was I was in jail that I couldn't go outside to get some fresh air all we did was stare at 4 walls all day that made my mental health worse being there, I didn't like the fact people were outbursting and that triggered it, I was so stressed out that by the day before I left I was on high blood medication other then that stuff it was alright wouldn't recommend it unless it's an emergency situation.
