The Landing is California’s premier chemical dependency treatment center for men, of Newport Beach is a private, 30-day program housed in a six-bed beach front home just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Offering comprehensive services and intensive support those struggling with alcoholism, drug addiction and dual diagnosis, The Landing specializes in helping clients overcome addictions to a variety of substances. Our treatment approach combines the 12-step philosophy with group therapy, art and recreation, education, individual treatment planning and relapse prevention.

DetoxWe have been overseeing drug and alcohol detox for more than 25 years and are dedicated to giving men the best chance at achieving long-term recovery. For this reason, we are experienced in the planning of a detoxification regimen that gives the man as much comfort as possible, thus ensuring that he has a good chance to maintain long-term sobriety. Withdrawal symptoms vary for different addictive substances, and our treatment network has facilities that are California state licensed to provide a safe and effective environment

- Evan Miller, Ph.D.Director“It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures in life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.” - Joseph Campbell Dr. Miller specializes in the treatment of addiction from a psychodynamic perspective, taking into account the complex underlying issues in each client’s pathology. Dr. Miller has an extensive background in psychological assessment, evidence-based treatment initiatives, and applied athletic performance enhancement. His research areas include Axis-II personality disorders, archetypal theory, chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders, and depth-oriented sport psychology
- Nathan Stump, CASPrimary Case ManagerNathan Stump is the Primary Case Manager at The Landing. Nate has been working with men in recovery for over 14 years and has spent the last 8 working as a case manager. Nate came to Sober Living by the Sea in 2005 and helped many men and women as Program Manager of Sober Living by the Sea’s Intensive Outpatient Program. Nathan was promoted to being the Primary Case Manager at The Landing in 2009 , and has brought his passion and professionalism to the premier men’s facility for addiction treatment.
