This place saved my life. I couldn't dream of a better facility to get well and get back on track. From the therapists to the doctors to the nurses to the resident assistance even down to the cleaning ladies every single person was helpful inspirational and positive and treated you like family. This place is a sanctuary to save lives. Set a top Mountain in North Georgia the grounds are beautiful as is Location. The group activities and offsite trips and meetings stay interesting & fun! Reminder that life can be beautiful is awakened. The owner stays regularly involved & other than this being a business, a place of caring and purpose has been created like no other. I couldn't give this place more praise and appreciation! I am so thankful for Mount Sinai from top to bottom you can't find a better place to resurrect your person. Love love love Mount Sinai and the people that built this place with genuine love & care to make it the best place you could ever hope to build a new life.
Treatment & stabilty of recovery Less contact with famil in the beginning Great, quick service. Great overview and outlook on rehab for the future
I am a former resident of this program, now 4 years sober, and was surprised to see such a negative review of this program. One of the directors (TS), who is no longer associated with the program, had a tendency to use fear and vey unusual consequences as a means of behavioral modification. I admit, I didn\'t/don\'t agree with most of those techniques for a person who has already suffered severe trauma as a result of years of substance abuse/addiction, but we are talking about very unhealthy individuals who arrive to treatment with nothing but problems, poor coping skills, family issues, legal issues and low-self esteem. It doesn\'t feel good to give up the one thing that provided comfort/relief and learn how to live sober. That\'s why the statistics for long-term recovery are so low. I can say in all honesty that the program provided EVERYTHING I needed to leave and stay sober. Most places, and I have \"unsuccessfully\" attended many of them myself, provide a bed and minimal structure. Damascus provided me with structure, accountability, workbook material, relapse prevention, 12 step support and a safe, comfortable environment to learn how to live, work and thrive as a sober member of my society. It\'s too bad some disgruntled former residents who were unwilling to put forth honesty, hard work, and behavior modification into action. I still maintain friendships with many sober brothers in recovery who had the same experience I did. Thanks staff!
