Treatment Philosophy
Oxford Treatment Center is a 110 acre campus located within the Holly Springs National Forest. With a 5-acre lake, ducks, geese and beautiful undisturbed forest land, the rural setting at Oxford Treatment Center offers a tranquil healing environment. Our approach to addiction treatment is a holistic one, seeking to restore hope and health to individuals who come to us out of painful, self-destructive patterns. It’s not enough to end a physical dependency through successful medical detox. On the other side of that first step, the individual in recovery must have the right support in place to break those old habits and replace them with new ones. He or she must find a new way to fill the void that drugs or alcohol once did — essentially, find a new meaning in life. At Oxford Treatment Center, our team of dedicated professionals consists of a medical director, a board certified addictions psychiatrist, a board certified internist, and 6 board certified nurse practitioners. The most unique hallmark of our team of medical providers is an average of 8 year tenure at Oxford Treatment Center. The medical provider cohort is proud of the stability and commitment it provides to our patients.

Northeast Georgia Health System - Laurelwood

I was brought to Laurelwood after being diagnosed with schizophrenia. Individual care was lacking and one employee was provoking and combative. The nurses were distant but nice. I was admitted around 5 times for a week at a time over a summer. I should have not been released while still dealing with my delusions that were causing me to attempt suicide.

The Jericho House

I both attended this program in 2012 and am now employed here. The change in the program since that time has been amazing and is continuing to grow leaps and bounds. The Jericho House cares for men\'s lives and the lives of their family members in a way that is unrivaled by other programs in the recovery community.

Comparing Macon Rehabilitation Programs Macon, Georgia, is a charming southern town, offering access to quality local medical and mental health care. However, access to Macon drug rehab centers can be limited due to the unusually high drug and alcohol use within the state of Georgia; according to a study by the Department of Health and Human Services, over 5 percent of the 18-to-25-year-old population of Georgia has an addiction to illicit drugs or alcohol.Advice on Entering a Rehabilitation Center

Gaining expert advice on different aspects of potential treatment programs will help you narrow down your choices in finding the right program for you.

Inpatient treatment programs often serve populations with long-term addictions and possible underlying issues, such as anxiety or depression. As reported in a study by Yale University, cocaine users have more success long term when treated at an inpatient center, so make sure to consider these programs for their overall effectiveness.

Inpatient programs offer:

  • The chance to break away from your community and social circle that may influence your addiction
  • Intensive, immediate intervention for your addiction and other mental health or medical needs
  • Assistance in withdrawal from drugs or alcohol
  • Family counseling where applicable
  • Slow transition back into your normal life, with ongoing group and individual counseling
  • Often, a 12-step program for structure during treatment

Outpatient recovery program treatment programs are day programs, wherein a patient attends counseling and appointments during daytime hours, and goes back home at night. These programs do not provide a complete transition and may prove difficult to complete.

Generally, outpatient drug rehab programs offer:

  • Counseling to address addiction issues
  • Group counseling to understand motivations for addiction and to build a community of recovering addicts
  • Classes and assistance with other life issues

Which program you choose will depend on your resources, work and family commitments, and the nature of your addiction.
