Human Resources, Inc. - Willow Oaks Residential Treatment

I was put here by a drug court program, I have celiac disease and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my nutritional requirements were met. They really made sure that I was eating what I was supposed to, and eating well. I was not supposed to be there, of course no one would believe that. It's very true though. I was treated very respectfully, which was a relief considering the fact that I was screwed by the system. The nurse went over my rights. She also had a homeless man there who had no clothes of his own and brought him her husband's clothes. Everyone there is so caring. I had a great experience, and I would think that I would say the opposite considering the fact that I SHOULD NOT have been in that position. It was not their fault, it was the county i was in who decided. But they treated me with nothing but respect and genuine compassion. I see reviews about not having enough family time. I saw how Boxwood (not sure I spelled it right but know it was one of the two facilities that I would be sent to) operated and they were able to have visitors. But had it explained to me why they thought it would be a negative thing. I saw the pros and cons of both. But really feel this facility was looking out for me and my well being. I have no negative things to say despite the bitterness of being sent there in the first place. If it's the same as when I went there, then be happy.

Selecting Suffolk Rehab Facilities Suffolk, Virginia is home to two major defense contractors (Raytheon and Lockheed-Martin) as well as a host of other industries, and thus has suffered less from recent economic downturn than other areas. At the same time, Suffolk has had very low rates of drug-related deaths. In 2009, there were only three such tragedies reported, and none listed for alcohol. Nonetheless, every such death is a tragedy to someone - and such a tragedy can strike any family. There are many reasons for someone to turn to substance abuse, but the main question is - how can that person reverse course? For most addicts, professional treatment is the best option.Tips on Entering a Rehab Facility

Once the decision has been made to undergo treatment, it is important to make certain that the facility is licensed and accredited, and that the staff is thoroughly trained and experienced. You and your family should also find out how successful the facility has been in treating patients, and whether or not the family is expected or allowed to participate in the addict's recovery.

Is Your Loved One an Alcoholic?

Most addicts or alcoholics do not believe they have a problem, and may even be unaware of the damage going on in their life. There are signs to look for, however. These are strong indicators of alcoholism:

  • Often drinks alone
  • Is drinking greater quantities
  • Drinks at unusual times (such as early in the day)
  • Is defensive when confronted

An intervention may be called for, but careful planning is necessary. Do not confront the drinker when she or he is inebriated or when either of you are in an emotional state. Furthermore, be certain the confrontation takes place in a safe environment, such as the home - not in public.
