Without the help and guidance from Banyan I wouldn’t have survived my addiction. They started my process of recovery and have been in my corner ever since. Through the alumni program I stay in contact with Teddy who goes above and beyond!
The Detox house was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a nice neighborhood. Meals were catered for lunch and dinner. The cabinet and fridge were always full of anything you wanted to eat. Detox is 3-10 days depending on the severity of your addiction. No matter what you've heard, there is nothing they can provide you to feel better. Medical Assisted Therapy is provided after everything is out of your system. Residential housing is a larger 3bdr/3bath home in a nice neighborhood. There are two people to a room and men and women are in separate house. During the beach/park visits we are reintegrated with opposite sex. The houses were companion animal friendly. If you do not have one, the backyard includes a Koi pond with wild ducks. Transportation is provided by staff to all activities and daily meetings. 6 out of 7 meeting each week are AA. 12 step is emphasized but not a requirement. Majority of the residents were addicts, some were alcoholics. There were 25 men in 4 houses and 4 women living at a separate house. Living rooms had TVs with all the apps and movie channels installed. Bowflex, stationary bike, punching bags, and laundry machines in garage. What I learned in the program: -To live my life without using. -If you want to use again, your misery will be fully refunded.
