Jaywalker Lodge

Not enough structure . Lack of training and education regarding techs. Not for those who do not wish to regularly engage in rigorous physical activity, lack of communication among staff and parents, allowed to have phones and video games once in the solutions program. Too much freedom too soon. "the financial component" is more of a driving issue regarding initial admission and subsequent decisions to move clients from one level to the next. If client is asked to leave for anything not just using, one day's notice is given. Hardly enough time to get your affairs in order and stay sober. bottom line, if they need to open up a bed, they will compromise another clients best interest and sobriety and move them up one level even if they aren't ready to make room for another paying client. The food is good and nutritious, the outings and service work are all good. J walker u is a great opportunity for those who want to finish college, but it's pricey, so be prepared to keep our wallet open. Bottom line, it''s not for everyone, but some men do succeed and thrive. I just don\'t think j walker has enough years under its belt to have broad range and proven success.

The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake

It's pretty much a country club. The beds are extraordinarily comfortable, bathrooms are clean, rooms are quiet, and the BHTs do everything they can within the rules/their power to accommodate your requests. The days are pretty routine...up at 6:30, coffee, shower, breakfast at 8, groups from 9 to 4:30 with a 45 minute lunch and plenty of smoke breaks. The scenery is breath taking. Some of the therapists are incredible - luck of the draw. A large majority of the staff is in recovery. Probably one of the nicest rehabs in the United States. Don't get me wrong, the rules can be restrictive and arbitrary, but it's for everyone's safety. No privacy, but that's to be expected, you get use to it. Coming from someone who has worked in several fine dining restaurants, the food is exceptional. One piece of advice - fill up during meal times because there is no free access to snacks. Even if you're not hungry, eat, you'll be hungry later if you don't.

By not having effective treatment programs available for addicts who have not committed crimes solely because there relapses and their ability to leave the program will have an effect on the success and completion rate, which can influence funding and how we measure the efficiency of treatment programs is stopping us from working on preventing people from committing crimes in the first place. This causes addicts who may truly want to stop from being able to receive the help they need. This is not my company fault and we do the best we can with what we have, client are treated with respect but it is a maximum stay of five day, resources are not there for those ready to change and not on paper.
