Verify your coverageI love how the girls who work there have most likely been a client at Safe Harbor. I miss Safe Harbor and I can't believe it's been over 5 years since I was there!! I loved how peaceful my mornings were on the front porch at Capella. I was told to "stick with the winners" right after arriving and somehow I just followed that suggestion the best I could. I wanted to be and stay sober so I did everything I could to follow direction and be as honest as possible. I was able to come out about my sexuality in one of our morning groups after years of judgment toward myself and accept who I am as a loved human being. I am still really great friends with the girls who I met at Safe Harbor and one male staff member was one of my biggest supports through the tough times. I've always said if I won the lottery I would donate as much as I could to Safe Harbor because of how my 90 days there changed my life forever.
Very compassionate therapists. Lots of art and meditation therapies. Very little 12 step practices, but constant access to 12 step meetings. EMDR is AMAZING! Sometimes the staff seems a bit disorganized. Perfect place for people in their 20's or 30's that want to be in a very hip environment.
I LOVE Action Family Bakersfield!!! I have been employed by Action for almost 4 years. All the staff is like a big family, working together to help people and families effected by addiction. The program directors are incredibly intelligent and insightful. The facility managers go above and beyond to keep clients comfortable and important. The chef is a gift to all who consume his food, he caters to each individual\'s likes and dislikes when shopping and prepares delicious home cooked meals 3 times a day. 5 days a week. The counsellors are amazing and genuinely care about each client\'s recovery. I know that I would still be clean and sober without Action, 4 1/2 years and counting!!! If I was no longer an employee, I would continue to recommend friends and family members because they treat you as if you are!
