Medical care was decent. Communication between staff and patients alike tended to get spotty at times. A lot of the staff really do seem to care a great deal about our welfare, particularly Meghan, Scott, Manny, Nancy, and all of the cafe staff! I feel like I’m forgetting names. Activities planned were a welcome respite from constantly being reminded how many mistakes you’ve made. She really brings an amazing energy to the AA meetings and group activities. I am not a fan of the “stick to your floor” rule. I lost a ton of motivation when all friends I made on one floor got moved and I was no longer to see them outside of meetings. It was very discouraging, to say the least. Also, my bed was broken (the mattress was literally hanging off of the frame) and as much as I asked for help, this was never rectified. But my goal of safely detoxing was attained, and that’s all that matters.
